Hello, my name is Dr. Jonathan A. Bregman. I am a dentist with a sincere passion for educating health care professionals and the public about early oral cancer detection. I lecture, train, and consult in the area of early oral cancer detection, including the new tools for detection to healthcare providers and non-healthcare providers in the battle against this deadly disease.
OralCancerAware.com will educate through:
1. Individuals who have faced the challenge of oral cancer or know someone who has. The sharing of these powerful personal stories will put a ‘human face’ on this disease that kills one person every hour in the United States alone. I will post your stories daily. Please send your personal stories to info@bregmandentistry.com.
2. Health care professionals who tell stories of patients in whom they have detected abnormalities that, upon biopsy, have been diagnosed as oral cancers (mild dysplasia to carcinoma). Hopefully these stories will encourage others to create an effective system of early oral cancer detection. Tell us how thorough oral cancer examinations have saved lives, and how you’ve been a part of these amazing stories. I will post your stories daily. 3. Creating a meeting place for health care providers, as well as individuals, who share an interest in oral cancer awareness. The blog will allow these people to find each other and set up lines of communication, information, education, and support.
4. Creating a forum for oral cancer education directed toward health care professionals and the public. The more we know and understand about early oral cancer detection, the earlier diagnosis and treatment can occur, and the more lives we will save. With this information, health care providers will be more effective. The public will be empowered patients.
